I dont know where to start. Its been a long long process.
From day one I should have walked away. The sales person said yes to anything he thought would get him a sale. He basically made up whatever he thought we wanted to hear and left if for other people to deal with later.
The process dragged on and on and on. We were told we could do anything apart from make the building wider. The salesperson took no notes as we walked around the show home and others being built discussing what we wanted.
In the end just about every change we made was forgotten or wrong. We were told to just get a 'holding' plan in so we could move to the next stage and make changes later. This caused us so much hassle and grief. It was a stupid thing to have agreed to.
We ended having to draw our own lighting plans as KHH refused to do it as we had already submitted the plan. It was a mess.
EVERY step of the build required us to spot and report problems. It was endless. Even when we did it often made no difference. KHH were being paid to project manage but they did a terrible job.
In the end we had a house we love but the stress was not worth it, there are LOTS of crappy workmanship still to sort and some we just have to live with. Every trades person said KHH were at fault and did not listen to them and KHH just blamed the tradesmen.
For example, we ordered a big expensive bath. It was a luxury. We went in to see the build only to find the bath full of glue, black scuff marks and crushed in plasterboard. I wrote a very angry email to express my feelings. We got no apologies and KHH email back simply said that they had spoken to the plasterer and he thought there was a protective layer over the bath. Simply disgusting. They also slipped in an extra $1000 into the alterations bill for their stuff up which we almost paid. They needed watching at every step.
The house was delivered maybe 5 months behind what we had been told originally, nobody from KHH was there, they never once said congratulations or sent a card, nothing. The keys turned up in the post and that was it. We never, ever felt like valued customers.
The house had a few major issues like a bare live wire left in the ceiling which could have either burnt the house down or seriously hurt the electrician who was up in the roof space when he found it.
Every door in the house was crooked after it was delivered, there were deep scratches in the big sliding doors, gaps under the door frames. The list goes on.
Id say if you are wanting a standard KHH plan with no changes, delivered to a flat section and dont mind waiting then you might be very happy but be very wary of any promises, plan changes etc.
Personally I think they should be ashamed of themselves. I would never recommend them to anyone.
